RAIRESHWAR FORT 

Raireshwar fort is situated in bhor  Taluka near pune , India ,  82 km away . It is  situated  in between various hills and forts such as kenjalgad fort . The place worth visiting at raireshwa are Raireshwar mandir  , Gomukh lake , Nakhinda ( Also know as Aswal lake ) and Panavleni 


Rireshwar is birth place of Swarajya . Chhatrapati Shivsji Maharaj  took the Swarajya Oath at Rireshwar at the age of 16 On 27 April 1645

ABOUT RAIRESHWAR FORT TREK 



Raireshwar fort is a one-day hill fort trek located near Korle village in Bhor taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra. Raireshwar Fort or Raireshwar killa established in the Western Sahyadri Ranges Maharashtra, which is 4505 feet above sea level and an easy grade level trek This place has got a lot of natural resources with a wind plateau of 11.440 km , 1.20 km wide . The base village of Raireshwar Fort is Korle village, which is 82 kms from Pune and 230 kms from Mumbai. Kille Raireshwar is very important for its remarkable history. Marathi is the universal language spoken by the villagers at the base village. Many forts like Kenjalgad and Rohida are the nearby forts to Raireshwar fort. Trekkers also attempt Rohida Kenjalgad Raireshwar Trek over two days. Another popular trek Raireshwar Kenjalgad trek can be completed in one day.

HOW TO REACH ? 

There are two route to get this fort   . One is via bhor and other via Wai , The bhor route is not suitable for large vehicles .

ROUTE FROM PUNE :

 1. Pune - Bhor  - to varanda ghat road - Ambheghar - Ambawade - Right turn - Mhakoshi road - Vadtumbhi - Korle - Raireshwar 

2. Pune - Shirwal - Surur phata - wai -Menawali road - Dhom dam right side road - Khavli - ghera kenjalgad  - right turn to ghat - Raireshwar 


ROUTE FROM MUMBAI 

 1. Dadar -Vasai -Khopoli - Lonaval - Pune - Bhor  - to varanda ghat road - Ambheghar - Ambawade - Right turn - Mhakoshi road - Vadtumbhi - Korle - Rairshwar 

2. Dadar -Vasai -Khopoli - Lonaval  Pune - Shirwal - Surur phata - wai -Menawali road - Dhom dam right side road - Khavli - ghera kenjalgad  - right turn to ghat - Raireshwar

KENJALGAD FORT

Kenjalgad Fort (also called Ghera Khelanja Fort) in Wai, Maharashtra is a fort eleven miles (18 km) north-west of Wai. It is located on the Mandhardev spur of the Mahadev hill range. The fort is visible from quite a long distance as a stone scarp 30–40 feet high rising as a cap on the irregular hill.The fort is rhomboid in shape with 388m long axis and 175m short a

HISTORY

 This fort is said to have been built by bhoj  Rajas of panhala who flourished in the 12th century. This fort was won by Adilshaha of Bijapure in 1648.Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had captured all the forts in Wai and Bhore region but, he was not able to win this fort till 1674. He captured this fort as an amazing movement while he was on a military campaign at Chiplun. He along with soldiers marched to the Kenjalgad and captured the fort by surprise. The garrison head Gangaji Vishwasrao Kirdat was killed in the ambush and the fort was captured on 24 April 1674. This fort was captured by Aurangzeb  in 1701. In the subsequent year i.e. 1702 this fort was captured by Maratha Army. After the fall of Peshva this fort was captured by British  under the detachment sent by Gen. Pritzler on 26 March 1818

HOW TO REACH ?


The fort can be reach by road from wai 25 km ,  There are mainly two routes to reach kenjalgad fort
First route :- The path starting from  col joining Raireshwar platue and kenjalgad take abot an hour to reach the fort
Second route :- The nearest rout start from  the base village Ghera kenjal , it take abot half an hour to reach the top of the fort

PUNE TO KENJALGAD FORT BY BUS


From Swargate there is ST (State Transport) or Privet buses available. Buses regularly playing between Pune to Wai or Wai to Pune. There are also local transports (Private cars and cabs) available from Pune to Wai, from Wai there are ST (State Transport) buses available to reach at Khavali base village of the fort.

MUMBAI TO KENJALGAD FORT BY BUS


From Mumbai there is ST (State Transport)/Volvo buses available. These buses are regularly playing between Mumbai to Wai or Wai to Mumbai. There are also local transports (Private cars and cabs) available from Mumbai to Wai, from Wai there are ST (State Transport) buses are available to reach at Khavali.
